RECBSA.ORG
Online Popcorn Ordering Page
Redwood Empire Council, BSA is proud to
present year-round popcorn sales! Scouts and Units can pass out
their own order cards and anyone can go online and place their order
directly with Trails End any time throughout the year. This means
that since you live in California, Grandma in Delaware can go online
and order popcorn with the benefits going to your Scout.
The following is a tutorial for setting up
online year-round ordering for your Scouts and Unit. If you would
like to print this tutorial, please click on the following link to
download this page in Adobe Acrobat
Reader.
First of all, Leaders must have access to the
Trails-end system for their unit. This was set up through the
council popcorn sales Fall 2004. If you were not the Unit Kernel
for 2004, please contact your Unit Kernel and point them to this page
for setup.
Login to the Trails End system the same way
that you did for Popcorn Sales.

Once there, select Scouts from the header to set up individual Scouts:

Sub-units (dens or patrols) can also be set up
in this screen. That will be covered later in the tutorial.
If setting up sub units, then go to the section for that and point
leaders, once they are set up, to this page for setting up their Scouts.
Once Scouts is clicked on, Leaders are presented with the screen to add Scouts to the Unit. Click on Edit as shown.

This is the place where a single scout can be added.

If adding multiple Scouts, click on the add
Multiple Scouts link

Once there, enter how many Scouts to
add. The numbers dont have to be exact here. Just put more
than however many boys are in your Unit so they can be added all at
once.

Click on Generate Multi Form to be taken to a
page to add the Scouts. Be sure to just add their first name and
last initial. This is important because that is the way it
will be displayed on their own cards and to the people that order from
them.

Once all Scouts have been added, click on Save
Multiple Entries at the bottom of the list to add the Scouts to the
Unit.

From there, Leaders will be presented again
with Scout List screen. From there, click on edit and make
changes to Scouts.

If the Edit button is clicked, Leaders
are presented with the Individual Scouts login and Password. This
is so the Scout (or their parents) need to input orders online, they
can do so all by themselves. It is suggested that user id's and
passwords are changed to something easier to remember. They login
to the Trails End System by going to trails-end.com and clicking on
Scouts and Online Orders.

Scouts can also be deleted from this screen if
they are no longer in the Unit just by checking the box by their name
and clicking save changes.

Now that the Scouts are all set up, it is time
to print out cards they can give to family and friends to place
orders. Click on Reports and Consumer Order Cards to do so.

Once Leaders have clicked on this link, they
will find several selections.
Cards can be printed for individual Scouts or for entire units through
this page.

Once the selection is made, click on Generate
Report to create the Report in Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Once the report is generated, Adobe Acrobat
Reader will open and generate the report requested.

As shown in the card, this will direct the
consumer to OrderPopcorn.com

Once the Consumer is there, they can enter the
key code as shown. This is what directs Trails End to place the
order on behalf of the Scout.

After entering the key code, the consumer will
be taken to their ordering selections

Your consumer can also click on a link to see
which Scout they are supporting

Once their order is placed, they will receive
their product in the mail, and Council will be notified about the
credit for your Unit.
Now.. to add Sub Units and let Leaders add
their own Scouts, click on the link for Sub Units in the header of the
main screen.

Click add a new sub unit to .....

Then fill in the details. The Leader's
info including email address is needed to do this because Trails End
will generate a password and send the information directly to the
leader. Point them to this page so that they know how to proceed
from there.

Leaders can also get more information by
clicking on the link at the bottom of their login page:

Good luck with your year-round sales and if
you have any questions, please dont hesitate to contact us!
